Welcome to the Public Collections

Think of this as a huge art museum, devoted entirely to comic art. On display are pieces of art ranging from comic book art, comic strip art, editorial cartoons, illustrations, and every other type of artwork which generally falls into the realm of “comic art”.

The purpose of these collections are to give collectors and artists a venue to put on display artwork they own that other people may be interested in seeing.

As a nostalgic pop culture hobby, there are lots of pieces of artwork we’d never have the chance to see that currently resides in private collections.

So wander around, oogle some fun art, and enjoy what you find!

Please keep in mind the vast majority of this artwork is put on display through the kindness of the collectors, so please don’t abuse it.

There are currently 451 pieces of original comic art on display

About the Artist:
Rob Liefeld is a self-taught artist who came to prominence in the early 1990s due to his work on Marvel Comics' The New Mutants and later X-Force. In 1992, he and several other Marvel illustrators left the company to found Image Comics, which rode the wave of creator-owned comic books with the first book being published Liefeld's Youngblood #1. Liefeld art style has proven critically divisive in the past. He has been criticized for drawing figures with exaggeratedly muscular anatomy and an improbable profusion of weapons, accessories and pouches. On the one hand, these trademarks were seen as the impetus for his initial success, when such affectations were unusual in comics. He turned comic book characters into "very cool toys". But the approach later became considered a cliche and led to a widespread hostility towards the style.
